Boom Lift Over 11m Licence Requirements In Nsw
In New South Wales, operating a boom-type elevating work platform with a boom length of 11 metres or more requires a WP High Risk Work Licence.
The relevant nationally recognised unit is TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more).
Who Requires This Licence?
Workers operating boom lifts in construction, maintenance, civil or industrial environments must hold the appropriate licence if the boom exceeds 11 metres.
What Training Covers
Training includes:
Hazard identification and risk control
Equipment setup and inspection
Safe operating procedures
Emergency and rescue considerations
Fall protection requirements
Assessment and Licensing
Assessment is conducted by an accredited High Risk Work assessor. Successful candidates receive a Statement of Attainment and must apply through Service NSW for the WP licence.
Understanding and complying with these requirements helps ensure safe and lawful operation of boom-type EWPs in NSW.
