About Digital Hearing Aids

A digital hearing aid is the new technology that can amplify the sounds and analyze the digital signals to distinguish between speech or noise. It converts the sound waves to digital signals.

According to a person's hearing problem, digital hearing aids can be adjusted in the ear and in different noise environments. These hearing aids are adjusted with a microchip which enables it to tailor the hearing aid to your specific type of hearing loss.

Main features of digital hearing aids:

Can change sound to digital signals
Can distinguish between noise ...
... and speech.
Can amplify sounds so that a person can hear speech better.

All digital hearing aids contain three components, that are:

Receiver
Amplifier

The microphone detects sounds, processes these and send them to a receiver which plays a role of a small loudspeaker to amplify the sounds and to enable a person to hear them better. Basically, digital hearing aids amplify sounds which enable you to hear everyday sounds, listen to conversations and hear normal. They can suppress some background noises so that you can listen a conversation better. If you have a tinnitus then these hearing aids can reduce the unwanted noises in your ears like hissing or whistling.
