Attending different educational establishments, students got used to academic disciplines they are offered, like mathematics, biology, English, physics, literature and many others. Still, there are much more disciplines students can study. Most academic disciplines are united in groups, like humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, formal sciences, and professions and applied sciences. The main purpose of this article is to present some specific information about ethno- disciplines, like ethnohistory, ethnomusicology, and ethnochoreology. These disciplines are not widespread, as one can see, still, students attend those classes in some part of the United States of America.

Ethnohistory

Ethnohistory is a study aimed at researching and examining historical records within indigenous traditions and ethnographic cultures. Students also learn the history of development of different ethnic groups that both exist and do exist today. The main sources of the materials are folklore, archaeological findings, language and other information that can be gathered. Ethnohistory helps historians write history about nations, ...
... the way they lived and evolved.

Ethnomusicology

Ethnomusicology is devoted to folk music noting, systemizing and research. This academic discipline is extremely important in understanding the history of native culture and the sources of some traditions.

Ethnochoreology

This discipline deals with folk dance. It is not a classical ballet as one may think. It is a search for traditional dancing elements in some ethnic groups. This discipline is rather recent. It may be called an attempt to understand why people dance in the way they do it and what the meaning of most movements is.

Those who do not know their past do not deserve the future. All three academic disciplines mentioned above have the main purpose to discuss people's history, to learn some sources and to apply those to modern understanding of human traditions. People's culture has not been studied till the end yet and these disciplines are aimed at helping scientists to solve that mystery.
