A Detox Holiday In Koh Samui
A week's holiday in Koh Samui could easily be spent lazing on a beach or lazing beside a pool, sipping cocktails and eating internationally prepared food. You could spend your holiday smoking and partying, staying out until the wee hours, and only getting a few hours sleep. If this sounds like your ideal holiday, then go for it. But in the long run, you might end up burnt out, and in need of a holiday after your holiday!
Why not really rest up this holiday, and allow your body and mind a total break. Indulge in nothing more strenuous than relaxation, and embark on a holiday detox.
There are many places in Koh Samui that offer full detox programs, including fasting and colonic irrigation, meditation or chi gung, as well as healing therapies, steam rooms, saunas and massage.
For some it provides the ultimate opportunity, a chance to let go of stress and totally revitalize both body and mind. But, for others, it is just the beginning of a lifelong heath and healing process, that will see them returning year after year.
If you haven't done a detox before, you may be wondering what exactly it involves. ...
... Generally the methods followed in most Kos Samui spas are quite similar. They follow the healing methods of detox and fasting, as made famous by Dr. Bernard Jenson. Each day, for seven days, you are given a series of detox drinks that include psillium husk and bentonite clay, as well as various other pills, including herbal ingredients said to aid the detox process.
As part of the course, you will be required to do daily colima, to help the body rid itself of any stored waste matter. Depending on the type of place you go these will either be assisted, or administered yourself. It is recommended that you chose a place that will assist you with this, and only go to a place that uses professional hydrotherapists who hold recognized international qualifications.
As well as the colonics, a good spa will encourage you to do some gentle exercise including yoga, tai chi, or walking. They should also teach you about healthy eating practices, and these should be something that you incorporate into your lifestyle after the detox too. Don't look at the detox as being just antihero thing to do, look at is as being the start of the rest of your life. Healthy eating and gentle exercise are the key to good health, so why not take this holiday experience as being the starting point for a whole, new you.
