A swimwear is piece of clothing that is wore before taking part in water sports like swimming, diving, surfing, water polo and many others. In many countries including New Zealand, Australia and other English countries, swimwear is used as an undergarments for water skiing, scuba diving, surfing and wakeboarding that requires wetsuits. They are famous as togs or bathers in these countries.

A usual swimwear suit for men include boardshorts, jammers, swim trunks, briefs, thongs and g-strings. A women's swimwear consists of a one-piece, bikini or thongs. In recent times, a special type of swimwear has been specially designed for Muslim women, named as burqini, which covers the whole body and head excluding the face following the Islamic values.

A swimwear can be both, tight fitted or of loose fitting. Depending upon whether the water is cold or warm, men and women prefer different swimwear suits that cover their body in various ways. Head, shoulders, arms and the lower part of the body are generally not covered in the mostly used swimwear. Special swimwear are designed for the swimmers who have to take ...
... part in the competitions. They reduce friction that increases the swimmer's forward motion moves. Many swimmers nowadays, uses specifically designed swimwear to enhance their drag in water, known as drag suits. The resistance of the swimmer in water is highly increased by using the drag suits which are mainly composed of loose fabric such as nylon or mesh.

One needs to keep in mind the fact that wearing swimwear for a long period of time can cause rashes and various infections. The swimwear suit of others may also not be used because this may also cause health problems. According to Medical Professionals, if you want to save yourself from rashes and infections, swimwear suit should be hurriedly changed after once it is used.
