We live in a world that is so fast-paced that we just get so used to feeling stressed all of the time. Yes it is true that feeling a little bit of stress every now and then is perfectly normal, and in fact it is even healthy. But sometimes life can get so fast paced that it seems being stressed is a pretty consistent state. If this is you, you need to know that being stressed all of the time is not good for your health. Ignoring stress or just anticipating it will go away on its own could lead to serious health consequences. Your immune system will weaken while you are under stress, and this could lead to a wide variety of illnesses or problems. Feeling jittery is another physical symptom of stress, and getting headaches more frequently than usual, or even starting them at all is also a sign of chronic stress. If you find that you are also having difficulty concentrating or becoming frustrated easily, these are also signs that you are getting overwhelmed and stress is just a little bit over your head.
The good news is that stress is one of the easiest things to cope with, and there are a wide range of tools and skills you can use to manage your stress more effectively. Having a good support system of friends and family is very important, and it is important you spend time with these people regularly when you are feeling stressed. If you are finding yourself overwhelmed by physical symptoms of stress such as headache and fatigue, exercise is also another wonderful coping mechanism for dealing with stress. Exercise gives you the opportunity to blow off some of that steam that has been penting up over the day or the week, and do something great for your health at the same time. You will also find yourself sleeping much better if you incorporate exercise into your lifestyle.
If stress is reaching a point for you where you just don't know which way to turn, and you don't know if you will ever get out of this anxiety, you are not alone. If your stress is continuing or is persistent, you may want to turn to tools that will treat your symptoms of anxiety more effectively. This can include medication such as Xanax or other anti-anxiety medications, or other natural means. If you need some help with your anxiety, ask your doctor if Xanax could help, or if alternative methods would be more beneficial to you for coping with your stress.
