For such people, serpentine belts are more useful as these belts can be easily changed and replaced manually without the help of a professional mechanic. The simple reason is that the different engine part of belts need not be removed. Removal and replacement of a single thing is needed to be done. But, as another added edge, these serpentine belts are of a good durability and do not break often. Thus, the replacement of these belts is not a big issue for the vehicle drivers. Once in a blue moon only, they need to accomplish this task if they take proper and good care of their automobile and its mechanical parts.

These belts do have some negative properties. When these belts do break, the automobile does not have any power provided to the engine components that are driven by the belt. The driver can have some problem. But these belts often wear away gradually and thus indicating about its replacing. A humming sound or immense noise indicates the replacement. Hence, the car owner could easily realize the need for the belt to be replaced.
