There are two types of fiber optic pigtails: single-mode and multimode. In terms of fiber count, there are 6 and 12 fiber optic bunches available on the market.

Multimode fiber optic pigtails are made up of 62.5/125 micron or 50/125 micron bulk multimode fiber cables that are terminated with multimode fiber optic connectors on one end. Single-mode fiber pigtail cables employ 9/125 micron single-mode fiber cable and terminate with single-mode fiber connectors on one end.

There are several varieties of pigtail cable connectors that terminate at the end, including LC fiber pigtails, SC fiber pigtails, ST fiber pigtails, FC fiber pigtails, MT-RJ fiber pigtails, E2000 fiber pigtails, and others. SC fiber pigtail: The SC fiber pigtail cable connector is a non-optical disconnects connector with a 2.5mm pre-radius zirconia or stainless alloy ferrule.
FC Fiber Pigtail: FC fiber pigtails take advantage of the metallic body of FC optical connectors, which have a screw-type structure and high-accuracy ceramic ferrules. FC pigtail patch cords and similar components are widely used in various applications.
ST Fiber Pigtail: The ST pigtail connector is the most commonly used for multimode fiber optic LAN applications. It has a long 2.5mm ferrule composed of ceramic (zirconia), stainless steel, or plastic. As a result, SC Fiber Pigtail is widely used in telecommunications, industrial, medical, and sensor applications.
