Cheap Doesn’t Mean Bad: The Case For Affordable Software
I suppose it is an idea that people have that the cheaper the software the worse it must be. Having a high price tag means people would think it is of better quality However, this is not always the case. There are great tools and they are cheap and sometimes are easy to use and they do what you want them to do. Spending less should not mean you are compromising any less. In reality, at times it is the reverse.
Remember all the apps you have installed, and in five minutes deleted. They are expensive, fancy and fail to even nail the fundamentals. Then you purchase a cheaper substitute, and, hey, presto, something just works. No stress. No bloated capabilities The thing you wanted all along in the first place. That is the strength of low-cost software.
Inexpensive applications can become a blessing to students, those who work freelance, or just people on a tighter budget. You do not have to empty your savings and buy a cleaner who will work on the laptop, a simple notation editor, or an app to organize files. Cheap software tends to specialize in doing one thing and doing it well, as opposed to ...
... trying to do everything in one (bloated) package. This makes them lighter, faster and more convenient.
It is also important to remember that most of the smaller players develop these tools. They have experienced the problem of over-priced programs, and, therefore, tend to provide people with reasonably priced deals. Not only will it support your wallet but also, keep the fresh ideas simmering within the software arena. It is the case of a true mobile application that we use daily: they start cheap, simple and are built to perform their actual purpose.
Inexpensive does not imply it is going to be out-of-date. Historically a lot of low-cost software is being constantly developed and upgraded. It just does not cost you more to get things you will never use. Rather than fixating yourself in annual subscriptions that leave your account scraping its bottom, you enjoy simple prices and no-nonsense value. It is something that big firms could adopt.
There is the issue of peace of mind. No one likes the hassle of downloading questionable free software that allows advertisements or far worse to fill your computer with junk. You have to pay a fee that will ensure you end up with cheap but reliable software. It is safe, legal and dependable. And to be fair it is worth much, much, much more than the few pounds you pay.
The bottom-line is that software is supposed to make your life manageable and not troublesome. It must be something that aids in you feeling like you can get tasks completed quicker, feel organised, or have some fun without adding pressure. Expensive apps tend to be talking up the world but with nothing much you will use. Low end products, in their turn, concentrate on people and problems. They deliver what you want and in the correct amount at an acceptable price.
Therefore, do not write off cheap applications. Try it. You may find it works better than the one that is ten times more. The cheap software should not be treated with such contempt as it is and companies such as cdrbSoftwares are evidence that low price does not necessarily imply low quality, rather it is often the sign of intelligence.
