Many people enjoy testing their skills and experience in various sports to the very limits as it gives them a chance not only to get great adrenaline boosts but also improve their potential. Heliskiing BC, like just a few other sports, allows anyone who puts enough trust in their capabilities to go out on a beautiful mountain and descend on freshly fallen snow without any indicators and signs to guide them. You are basically left to make your own road taking whichever way you may prefer.

The only rules that are imposed by the companies that specialize in heli skiing BC services are meant to keep you safe at all times and avoid any type of misfortunes that might appear due to unnecessary mistakes. For those of you that may not know by now, even though I believe very few people are in this category, heliskiing Canada is the next step you can take from other similar adventures such as snowcat skiing. Heliskiing Canada gets its name from the fact that these services use helicopters to bring their customers to the locations where they start riding down the mountain.

Although there have very few things in common there ...
... are always people that mistake heliskiing BC services for the traditional skiing services you can enjoy in almost any country in the world. This is quite a serious mistake because the mode of transportation is hardly the only thing that is different. The skis are wider and more robust in order to keep you from sinking down into the virgin snow, there is a whole lot of safety equipment you need to carry with you, and probably the most important difference is that a heliskiing Canada is far more dangerous than any descent you might be making on a regular slope that is well market and where you would never be more than five or ten minutes away from qualified medical help.

After arriving at a mountain lodge spa for your heli skiing BC adventure, because this is how most people are describing it, and before you will be even thinking about putting your gear on, you will receive an extensive course on how to stay safe on the mountain and how to avoid any of the serious dangers that are present on any mountain covered in snow.

You have probably already heard about avalanche beacons which is basically equipment that is used to find people who are trapped under snow after an avalanche and you have only seen rescue personnel carry around this type of equipment. Well, on a heliskiing Canada trip these types of tools are pretty common and each member of the group has to carry with him or her numerous items meant to protect them but also to aid in the rescue of other members. Basically, in the misfortunate even when one member becomes the victim of an avalanche while on a heli skiing BC descent, all the other members of the group become rescuers.
