So, you are almost going crazy to drive your own car. You seem to have waited for this day, ever since you got this passion in you to drive a beautiful car.
However, a driving school in Woodridge might tell you why it essential to maintain your car. We all know you must be too excited to hit the roads that look so wide and full of thrill; but if you are headed for a safe journey, remember to check whether the vehicle is in sound condition to take the roads.
According to experts it is pretty okay to note down everything on a notebook, especially regarding the car’s annual maintenance. That way you will be assured at least, you do not have to confront some uncontrollable scenarios. Meanwhile, getting a routine check done, early in the morning before you fasten the seatbelts for a ride, is a priceless way of assuring not only the car’s safety, but yours as well.
No! We are not asking you to bring the car for annual service or maintenance at a service station, all the time. You can sometimes conduct a routine check as well. Certain ...
... basic maintenance can help you maintain your car for a great journey. Plus, with regular maintenance it is possible for the vehicle to remain in top condition, with a less likelihood of faults developing out of nowhere.
Want to know what a driving school in Woodridge has to say about routine car maintenance? Have a look:
Tyres
Even though it is easy to say no, to tyres for an every day check, you cannot simply ignore them. As these wheels are responsible for running the car. Furthermore, keeping a check on the tyres does not involve rocket science. Some of the potential problems can be identified straight away by looking at the tyres. The problem however lies with people not paying enough attention to them, leading to tyre issues that are hard to resolve, unless they are replaced.
If you have not checked the tyre pressure as of lately, then get it checked at a local garage or a gas station. Make sure the tyres are always optimally inflated. If you do not know what an adequate air pressure of your tyre should ideally be, look for the manufacturer’s guide. Also, you can check it by entering your car’s registration number. It’s hard to believe but a car which runs on an under-inflated tyre can be potentially dangerous to drive. Plus, under inflated tyres only cause more of fuel consumption. Get all the punctures checked if you feel that there are other tyres suffering as well.
Liquid levels
Whether you know this or not, but your new car has different tanks under its bonnet. These tanks hold important fluids for the car. If you want to ensure you car is in pristine condition, always check for these fluids.
Checking these liquids is an extremely good habit as it ensures your car isn’t facing a leakage issue or build-ups anywhere. Low levels of these fluids can further lead to problems which can land you stranded in the middle of roads. So, it is crucial you get them checked for adequacy.
Fluids like the engine oil is not only crucial for lubricating other parts. It is of sheer importance for the engine to remain cool all throughout a journey. Check the engine oil levels if you want to be sure that the engine is not running out of it. Change or top it up and while you do this keep your eyes on the filter as well. Get them cleaned or change them if necessary. We will recommend you seek professional help for a great start.
Coolant is like another important fluid which needs time to time checking. If you do not want the engine to get overheated, make sure your car has enough coolant. The car parts remain safe and running most of the time, because of the presence of coolant. So, its important to have them checked.
Windscreen wipers
The next most important thing to do is to have the windscreen wipers checked. When anything goes wrong with the wipers, their blades will not perform well. A properly functioning wiper will clear up the water. However, when the wipers aren’t able to function properly, they generally leave streaks on the glass. Plus, they will not be able wipe well. Worn down or broken wipers can even lead to strange sounds and irregular movements.
Simply by looking at the wipers you will be able to notice torn down parts or bits that have peeled off. To have a check on the wipers it is crucial to properly hold them in order to look into the matter.
Wiper blades aren’t difficult to deal with. Mostly they are replaced when anything goes wrong with them.
Staying well-lit
Always before you hit the roads, make sure you have your car well-lit; which means, all the lights must be working well. Regularly check the car’s lights to find out if the vehicle is in sound condition to run. If you want to see them working, park the vehicle somewhere at a side and then switch the lights on.
These are some fundamental aspects to look into before you get set for the road ahead of you.
