Shopping for your baby’s first cot mattress in Australia can feel overwhelming. With so many brands and materials to choose from, how do you make the right choice? This guide breaks it down.

Step 1: Measure Your Cot
Before purchasing, confirm the dimensions of your cot. Most Australian cots are standard size, but always double-check to ensure a snug fit.

Step 2: Choose the Right Material
Foam: Lightweight but often less breathable.

Innerspring: Good support but can be heavy.

Natural & Organic: Brands like Milari Organics use certified organic materials that are breathable, firm, and toxin-free.

Step 3: Check Certifications
Look for the following:
GOTS Certified: Ensures organic content and non-toxic dyes.

AS/NZS Firmness Standards: Ensures the mattress is safe for newborns.

Step 4: Breathability & Washability
Ensure your mattress allows air to circulate and comes with a removable, machine-washable cover. Milari Organics offers both features in their designs.

Step 5: Longevity and Warranty
Good cot mattresses should last for ...
... 2–3 years or more. Brands like Milari Organics provide warranties that speak to their confidence in product durability.

Wrap-Up
When it comes to cot mattresses in Australia, don’t settle for anything less than breathable, organic, and safe. With trusted brands like Milari Organics, you’ll sleep better knowing your baby is, too.
