If you want to get a job in the supply chain, you first have to have an idea about the concept of a supply chain. It is the process that the business has to go through before they can deliver the final product to the consumers. Products, before becoming the labeled one in the market, start as a raw material first. There are a lot of things that has to happen such as manufacturing, transporting and storage before the product gets to the store and finally to the hands of the consumer.

In this chain of activities, there are a lot of job opportunities with varying requirements and skills. It will depend on your career move on what job you will decide to take. There are job opportunities as a procurement clerk, distribution manager or a raw material supplier.

For those with little experience and minimal education, procurement clerk is the best position to start with. This job usually offers on-the-job training from those who are already quite an expert in the field. Even if the procurement clerk is an entry-level position in the supply chain management jobs, it still has big responsibilities. You should be good in record keeping and be computer literate if you want to get the position. You should be able to transact well with the federal government and handle certification as well.

Aside from being a procurement clerk, you can also have logistics jobs or even become a distribution manager. The distribution manager is higher up the ladder in the supply chain management jobs. He is the one that oversees the transportation of goods from the factory to the warehouse of the markets. They are responsible for the raw materials and the finished products alike.

Logistics recruitment is essential in the field of supply chain much like the recruitment of managerial positions. Every task in the supply chain is important for it all leads to the quality and quantity of the end product. Assess your strengths and apply for a job in the supply chain that fits your qualification.
