Students' motivation for looking for a part-time job

The problems of generation gap and lack of mutual understanding of parents and children have been discussed since times immemorial. For this reason, parents often disapprove their children's decision to combine their work with studies. From the one hand, they are assured that it will have a negative impact on the young people's learning achievements and professional skills. From the other hand, adults might blame themselves for not providing their children with sufficient financial support. At the same time some parents disapprove early start of students' career being afraid that extra money can get them in wrong.

Ability to reach a compromise is significant for succeeding in various spheres of life. Parents should try to recollect their own student life and put themselves in children's place. Certainly, parents' anxiety is quite natural. Still, it is senseless to deprive learners of opportunities to receive their own life experience and to learn from it. Considering the parents' advice might be helpful for preventing some mistakes and drop outs as well as setting ...
... the priorities.

Allowing children to receive life experience

Parents should get rid of their misconceptions concerning students' work. Certainly, it presupposes some extra load, still, it is impossible to screen students from all life hardships. In order to evaluate the learner's decision critically, a parent should consider the following factors:

1.It is important to discuss the student's motivation for juggling work and studies. It is possible to point at other benefits of starting one's career earlier and influence young person's views.

2.Parents might warn children that they will have to struggle against various difficulties. Sharing their life experience, adults might make their children's decision more conscious.

3.Adults may help children to set the priorities before looking for a part-time job.
