Visit The Pride Of Spain
Seville is the capital of Spain''s Andalusia, and the cultural, artistic and financial capital of Southern Spain. The city mixes a rich cultural and history with a modern, vibrant atmosphere to create a truly unique holiday experience. If you''re looking for something truly special from your holiday, then look no further.
When it comes to getting to Seville the most obvious option is to fly. Seville Airport is a relatively small airport: whilst this means flights aren''t as common as with some more major places the airport itself isn''t too confusing and crowded, making for a more relaxing stay. Another alternative method of getting here is by bus ? the city is served by an excellent bus network which runs from most major cities and towns in the surrounding area.
You can also bus around the city itself. However, there are more interesting and reliable forms of transport available. The El Metrocentro Tranvia tram stops at four key locations around the city, making it a great way to get an overview of the available delights. In 2008 the city also opened its first metro line. An increase in environmental consciousness ...
... has also led to more people cycling around the city; this is a great way to soak up the atmosphere.
One of the most beautiful, luxurious and memorable hotels in Seville is the Hotel Alfonzo XIII which mixes truly stunning decor with fantastic service and a great location. All this luxury does come with a price-tag however; if money is more of a concern on your holiday then hostels like the Oasis Backpacker''s Hostel or the Sevilla Urbany Hostel might be worth considering.
There are a couple of must-see sites in Seville. One of these is the Cathedral of Seville; it was built in the fourteenth century and provides a truly breath-taking glimpse into the city''s fascinating past. For a more modern piece of architecture then the lavishly decorated Plaza de Espa?a is also worth a visit.
The Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares (Traditional Arts and Customs Museum) mixes a truly stunning external facade with an interior crammed full of beautiful artwork and interesting displays about Seville''s history. The Flamenco Art Museum, the Bullfight Museum or the Maritine Museum all also provide unique insights into Spanish culture ? and if all that learning gets a bit too much then they''re often situated in busy bits of town, meaning you can pop out for a quick drink.
If course, even when the city is as beautiful as Seville, sometimes you just need to get away from the urban lifestyle for a bit. Seville has many beautiful parks which will allow you to do just that; for example there are beautiful terraced gardens, designed during various different historical periods, behind Alc?zar Palace.
Another option is the Parque de los Pr?ncipes; a simply stunning venue in which to spend an afternoon. Of course, for something a bit more vibrant then the Isla Magica, a theme-park including roller coasters, live theatre shows and a large lake might be worth considering.
