In 2024, Turkey welcomed approximately 330,000 Indian tourists, while Azerbaijan saw about 240,000 visitors from India. However, recent geopolitical developments have led to a significant shift. Major Indian travel agencies, including Travomint, EaseMyTrip, and Cox & Kings, have suspended all travel packages to Turkey and Azerbaijan. This move aligns with national sentiment and reflects growing concerns over safety and diplomatic implications.

Travomint, in particular, has taken a firm stance by halting bookings for Turkish Airlines, Corendon Airlines, and Azerbaijan Airlines. The company emphasized that this decision prioritizes the safety and security of passengers, crew, and partners, asserting that national interest must take precedence over commercial operations. The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has also joined the boycott, urging its members to refrain from promoting tourism to Turkey and Azerbaijan.
