Back in the spotlight of the manufacturing industry, Order-Matic (OMC), an experienced innovator of point of sale and restaurant communications equipment, was featured in the Summer 2010 issue of Manufacturing Today Magazine. In an article titled Game Changers, Order-Matic was featured for helping innovate the electronic communication system of the food service industry.

The History of Order-Matic

To paint a full portrait of the company's history, Manufacturing Today interviewed Bill Cunningham, the CEO who started Order-Matic in 1955. He originally conducted the company out of his garage, where he developed his first patented curb service ordering system with a built-in speaker. After a highly successful initial installation at the former Cattleman's Drive-In at the Oklahoma City stockyards, the system began to set the standard for electronic communication in food service.
