On 30th April 2025, a road connecting to Chunna Bhatta & North Bay was inaugurated to boost tourism & access. The Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS officially opened the newly constructed 5.5 km rural road connecting Chunna Bhatta & North Bay, a popular tourist destination.

Before this inauguration all the general public as well as tourists have to go via seaways which was time-consuming, & far enough to reach. The only access to North Bay Island was from Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex or through Junglighat Jetty but after the inauguration of the road you could directly access it from Chunna Bhatta to North Bay Island.

The journey for North Bay Islands starts from Chatham where there is government ferry services for passengers as well as for vehicles. The destination leads to Bambooflat which is approx. 15 minutes to travel via sea to cross. Then arrive at Bambooflat Jetty & turn right heading straight towards Chunnabhatta Road.

... there will make you feel an amazing experience. Here you can even encounter the most religious church of Andaman named Velankanni. It’s said to be the most visited religious place by the Catholic community. Heading towards Chunnabhatta before a temple, a left turn could lead you Mount Harriet National Park (Mount Manipur National Park) where going straight is the actual destination.

The crystal clear water can make you look even deeper without any mixture of pollution or contamination on the sea. Water sports activities like scuba diving & snorkeling are well performed here. Most of the tourists are attracted towards these greedy activities & well satisfied after their deeds.

Boats & ferries are still beaching them (tourists) on North Bay Islands & the roadways as well is a best option. It's up to an individual’s choice whether they prefer roadways or seaways the most. Not only the beach environment & water sports activity but there is a lighthouse which is too visited by these tourists. It is approx. 250 m above sea level where you have to walk a little then reach over it. The entry charges for the North Point Lighthouse is as follows :
