The Essential Variations In Vented And Sealed Systems

Most households have a type of heating and it is accepted that the most popular is gas central heating. Whether you are purchasing a new development or established household you will find that it will contain a central heating system which is a modern day necessity. Whether you are looking at a completely new home or an established house one of the features you will need to look into is its central heating system.

Before you purchase a central heating system you need to picture what type of system and gas boiler you will want. This document will help you to interpret the alternatives available to you. The main component in a central heating system is the gas boiler and this will be chosen in accord with your requirements.

The value of central heating systems is fully realised in wintertime although most are also used to furnish hot water every day of the year. No one would deny how a home is transformed when we install an economic heating system. In addition to heating the home the central heating system will be used to provide hot water when called ...
... for. Your Central Heating System needs to be dependable. You want to match the central heating system to your home needs so that it both meets your needs and uses energy efficiently.

There are two main types of Central Heating System; pumped or vented and sealed systems.

pumped or vented systems are the most common. This type of system has a feed and expansion tank together with a hot water cylinder. Hot water expands and in this type of system flows back to the expansion tank. The tank is placed in the highest place in the home, normally the loft area.

As thinking develops sealed systems are now more commonly being installed in homes. Sealed systems have fewer parts having no need for the water expansion tank. The mains water is used to supply the sealed Central Heating System. This eliminates the requirement for any piping or central heating water tanks in the attic, the whole system is sealed, its unvented, which has its benefits:

- less chance of leakages

- fewer components require less upkeep

- no risk of freezing pipes in the loft

- as the system is sealed there is less chance of air entering leading to corroding or air locks

Any water pressure variances are accommodated by the incorporation of a pressure vessel. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.
