Important Events In Rio This August Part 2

In the first part of the article we presented some of the most important events that will occur in the first part of August in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most beautiful and active cities in the entire world. With this second part we will continue where we remained at the end of the first part, to be more exact, on the 19th of the month.

From August 19th to the 21st, Rio de Janeiro will be the home of the 21st edition of the Gastren Rio which is a very important event for all medical professionals in gastroenterology, enhanced by updated topics of interests in that specific area.

The Carnival das Culturas - 5th World Cultures Carnival will be held starting from the 20th of the month and ending on the 29th. This event focuses on multi-cultural aspects, the similarities and differences between cultures, celebrating Diversity. It presents music, singing, dancing, and theatre and poetry performances. There shall be workshops and activities for children, youngsters, grown-ups and senior citizens

On August 22th, the fifth edition of the Walking Rio event will take place and here all tourists will have the opportunity ...
... to take a walk along the lovely beaches of Ipanema, Leblon, Leme and Copacabana, adding to a grand total of 10 km. There are no age restriction which means that everybody is invited to take part in this circuit, and here we include handicapped - each following their own pace, since there will be no qualifying stages either by time or order of arrival.

Moving on to another event, just as important as the last one, is the 14th edition of the Rio de Janeiro International Half Marathon which will take place on the 22nd of the month. This event is somewhat similar with the previous one and everybody is invited to join in.

From August 24th to the 27th, the 24th edition of the Brazilian Congress of Neurology - Rio Neuro 2010 will take place in the city and will be focused on neurology which has safety broadened its knowledge the fastest on the past decades making it a very important subject of debate.

Starting on the 26th of the month and ending on the 28th, will be the Athina Onassis International Horse Show which this year will reach its 4th edition. For this year, it will be the host of the final and most important round of the world horse riding championship circuit - Global Champions Tour 2010 (GCT).

From the 27th until the 30th of the month, Rio will be the home of the XII Congresso Brasileiro das Ligas do Trauma e III Encontro de Enfermagem no Trauma (12th Brazilian Congress for Trauma Leagues and 3rd Meeting of Trauma Nurses) event which will approach the topic of trauma, as one of the most serious diseases o for times, within a modern and striking view, and its theme is: Trauma as you have never seen it.

All things considered, just like the first part of the month, August is a very important month for Rio de Janeiro as many events will be organized, all equal in their importance. Make sure that you put Rio de Janeiro in a top spot for your vacation plans and you will not regret it.
