The client sought a solution to streamline the entire process, from order collection to the generation of production-ready CAD models and drawings.

... is looking for a DriveWorks Product Configurator, to configure client products proficiently. The Configurator streamlines the collection of client information and provides supportive documents like drawings and models to facilitate order processing. This in-house tool has significantly improved the overall order fulfillment process for Client.
Challenges
Procurement of order details through manual protocols.

Considerable time investment in the formulation of cost estimates, creation of complex SolidWorks CAD models, and preparation of detailed drawings.

Encountering difficulties in maintaining quality control due to the utilization of manual procedures.

Solution
We initiated the project from scratch.

Developed a Door Configurator with a Landing Page project and Child projects.

Each Child project corresponds to one product, allowing efficient organization.

The Landing Page collects client information, navigates to configure different Child projects, and displays the configured products within the order in a table.

Each Child project has parameters for product information, facilitating the generation of models, BOM and drawings within 10-15 minutes, accompanied by a 3D preview for a real-time visualization.

The client had various door constructions and assemblies, including sliding doors, synchro sliding doors, telescopic doors with fixed panels\pocket, etc.

Building master models and drawings to accommodate these variations presented a challenging task.

Structuring a 3D preview in DriveWorks for all products proved to be a challenging task.

The project was broken down into phases, starting with simpler sliding door products, telescopic, and Syncro telescopic/Sliding.

Each phase increased in complexity, gradually addressing the client’s diverse product range.

The development of a Landing Page project enhanced overall client productivity.

Each product configurator generates 40-50 SolidWorks model and assembly. Also, generate 30-35 manufacturing drawing with BOM for production.

Inputs
SolidWorks model and drawing files provided by the client for reference.

Collaborative discussions with the client to understand product and requirements.

Deliverables
Fully functional Door Configurator project with a 3D preview.

Output includes SolidWorks models, BOM and drawings.
