Work from home has become a craze among the fellow Americans. This craze has not happened in a day or two. People have seen the toughest of tough times in the last one and a half year. Right from the onset of the US financial crisis, we have witnessed one of the worst economic downturns ever. Jobs in US have dwindled and people can be seen queuing outside offices for the post of a mere Apprentice. In the month of April 2010, the rate of unemployment has touched a staggering height of 9.9%. This is not a good sign.

We have heard people talking about losing job at drop of the hat. In fact, one of my friends lost her job at no fault of her. One fine morning, she was given the pink slip. Why am I talking about others? I was one of those victims who lost the job because of the claustrophobic boss of my last company. In my last company, I was considered among the best employees. But after the 2009 Recession started my boss started to nail me on whatever reason he could. I don't consider losing my job as a curse because this hard time had made me start my own work from home business venture. Now, after almost a year, I have started earning more than what used to get as salary. If I can earn more than my salary in a period of one year then just give a thought to the prospect of it after 5 years. This economic down turn has come up as an opportunity for me. Before the recession had started, I always thought of starting my own business, but I always hesitated to leave a steady job. Ultimately, economic downturn has helped me to go for my dream and materialize my own home business.

There are many advantages of starting your own work from home venture. The first and foremost advantage is the flexibility of work. You can work at your will and anytime of your choice. Work life balance is another factor. Before starting my venture my wife always complained about my work-time. But now I can give ample time to my family. To maintain a perfect work life balance, you simply need prior planning. Another aspect that is highly advantageous is the money saved. If you work from home then you can save a lot of money as well as time. How? The answer is given below:
1. A lot of gas will be saved because you don't need to travel long distance to your work place. This will save a lot of your money.
2. You don't need to spend extra money on food in your home because you don't have to buy food from outside.
3. When you go to your job place, you have to spend a lot of your time in traveling. If you start your own work from home business then lots of your time will get saved.
