At least a day’s travel is required to reach the Yamunotri temple from various towns of Uttarakhand such as Rishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun. For reaching the main temple, pilgrims have to complete a trek of 13 KM from Hanuman Chatti and also 6 KM from Janki Chatti. Another choice that can be taken by pilgrims is the usage of horses or palanquins for this purpose.
