Those seeking sun, sea, sand and surf will be amply catered for in Goa. Anjuna beach, prime hippie location of old and now upmarket beach turf, is a stunning stretch of coastline offering glistening shores and sparkling waters. Bedecked with an array of stylish restaurants and homely caf?s, take breaks from sunbathing by enjoying a mango lassi in the shade from time to time. If you stay until sunset, the nearby village of Arpora hosts a vibrant market on a Saturday night.

With such a beautiful coastline to offer its visitors, it comes as no surprise that another of Goa''s biggest attractions are its water sports facilities. Diving, surfing, jet skiing, snorkelling and many more adrenaline fuelled, water born activities are all available off the shores of Goa. Simply rock up to the beach and head to the nearest centre for equipment, instruction and further information.

Those looking forward to sampling some authentic Indian cuisine will be thrilled to learn that Goa is the birth place of the infinitely popular Vindaloo curry. If you like your food to be hot and spicy then you can take your pick from the vast Vindaloo ...
... menus that are available in Goa. Special fish curries are also common in this part of India as much delicious seafood can be sourced and farmed cheaply within the local area. Wash it all down with a glass or two of the local beer as you watch the sun go down on a perfect day''s holidaying in Goa.

Made up of so many different cultures and languages, Goa has a vibrant and eclectic past, present and future. One way to get the most out of your visit is to spend a while reading up on the historic events that have contributed to make Goa the place it is today. Many books have been written and many documentaries filmed about this most fascinating of holiday destinations so a little research material shouldn''t be too hard to come by. Bonny Kominek put together research with Octopus Travel when writing this article, they have many destinations including Goa hotels.
