Our life choices are reflected in our homes. Choosing functional yet simple furniture can keep our homes and minds organized. Living a simple life is an art that we increasingly need to practice if we wish to lead a peaceful life. We often store several things in our homes as well as our lives which makes the spaces messy and cluttered.

Decluttering at regular intervals can improve our living experience. There are things and also memories that need to be cleared from time to time to keep our lives stress-free. Some memories that always bind us with hurtful experiences from the past must be removed from our minds.

What Role Does Minimalism Play in Improving Well-being?
It has often been found that extreme greed can lead to mental stress. As humans, we are subjected to greed, envy, over-ambitious nature. We need everything that we see others possess. We need a huge home, car, and a foreign holiday every year because our neighbors also have it. We need to compete with them and this urge often pushes us to achieve things that we do not need in our lives to be happy.

In reality, we may be simple human beings ...
... who are happy with 4 meals a day and a trip within our country only but because of this unhealthy competition, we may feel the need to possess things that cannot make us happy.

Nowadays social media plays a very important role in an individual’s life because whatever is playing in real life people need to post pictures of them on social media for the world to see. As a result of this, people feel the pressure to do everything with perfection so that they can beat others doing the same things. Staying ahead of the competition is killing the peaceful mindset of people.

There are various examples on social media who are not happy in their real lives but their social media handles tell a different story. These people fake it on social media to paint an image of being happy and successful whereas they are not. This again is creating a lot of excess in our lives which is redundant.

Emotional baggage, negative feelings about others, and an unhealthy drive to prove something to the world are all excess feelings and emotions that we do not require in our lives. Instead, we must cultivate a sense of happiness and oneness with nature; we should practice solitude and meditate to achieve peace of mind by switching off social media notifications. This will help us free up space that can be filled with inner peace and joy.

The more you store negative things inside your mind, the more disturbed you are. All the social chatter and banter does not help you achieve success or peace in life. They can only provide 90 minutes of fame and high which is harmful in real life. To exist peacefully you must add value to life, inculcate the feeling of happiness, and practice minimalism.

Living smartly covers helpful topics for being wise, healthy and financially sufficient and other aspects like cultivating wisdom gifting, gift ideas, health protection, hindu dharma among other topics for smart living.
