Pm Modi Launches C-295 Aircraft Facility In Gujarat, Boosts 'make In India' Initiative
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated India's first private-sector aircraft manufacturing plant in Vadodara, Gujarat.
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez jointly inaugurated the TATA Aircraft Complex in Vadodara, Gujarat, to manufacture C-295 aircraft.
This plant, a joint venture between TATA Advanced Systems Limited and Airbus Defence and Space, Spain, will manufacture 40 C-295 aircraft for the Indian Air Force, replacing the old Avro-748 planes.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, PM Modi stated that aircraft made at the Vadodara plant will be exported in the future.
"The Tata-Airbus manufacturing facility will strengthen the India-Spain relations and the 'Make in India, Make for the World' mission," PM Modi, who laid the foundation stone of the FAL plant of C-295 aircraft in Vadodara in October 2022, said.
He also paid tribute to former Tata Sons chairman Ratan Tata, who is said to be the brains behind the project.

Mr. Pedro added, “This project strengthens our industrial ties while underlying our country's deep commitment as a reliable and strategic partner."
C-295 Aircraft: A Game Changer
The C-295 aircraft is a versatile, new-generation transport aircraft with a payload capacity ranging from 5 to 10 tonnes. The aircraft, dubbed "robust and reliable," has a flight endurance of up to 11 hours and can conduct multi-role operations in all weather situations.
In addition, from the desert to the maritime environment, the aircraft can frequently execute day and night combat operations.
