While retirement on the beachfront is an excellent choice, a growing number of Americans and Canadians are beginning to choose a Mexico retirement community in one of the charming colonial cities throughout Mexico. Among these, the Yucatan Peninsula offers two exciting choices - Merida real estate, which is already a favorite, and Campeche real estate, which is just starting to attract a larger group of retirees.

What is the advantage of retiring in place like Merida or Campeche? Of course, the romantic atmosphere of a classic colonial city, with wonderful architecture is one key reason. Both of these cities are investing heavily in the complete restoration of there historic city centers.
