There Is Another Way

Many people have found themselves on the receiving end of an unwelcome and ridiculously pricey energy bill at some point. But recently, home energy service providers have been coming up with new and innovative ways that allow the consumer to accurately monitor exactly how much gas and electricity they're using. British Gas Energy have introduced two different bill calculating measures that allow the consumer to avoid the estimated bills that have caused fear and unrest among their customers around Winter time. They put control firmly in the consumer's hands and offer the opportunity to make some substantial savings.
Be Energy Smart
One of these new energy-saving systems that British gas offer is Energysmart. Its a system that can be applied to both British Gas electricity and gas that allows the user to accurately see how much energy is being used. It's a little monitor that can be attached ...
... to the meter and will calculate your exact energy consumption levels. It'll even show you at what time of the day your household is using the most energy and what items are using it. The uses for this in terms of energy-saving and even money-saving measures are almost boundless. Imagine being able to accurately identify exactly where you're using the most electricity at home. You would be able to see something that you weren't aware was guzzling too much electricity, like if you were leaving your laptop on for too long. It could even identify something potentially dangerous, like a faulty lamp that could be about to cause a power surge. For our more environmentally-aware chums this is also another opportunity to obtain proof that we should all sit in silence and darkness to preserve the life of the planet.
An Even Simpler Way Of Doing Things
Pay as you go has always been a payment system associated with mobile phones, but not any more. British Gas Pay As You Go lets the user put a meter on their electricity supply that requires a payment card. A payment card that can be topped up at specified payment locations which can then be plugged into the meter and cause the gas and electricity to flow freely. This allows the consumer to only pay for exactly what they use and also moderate their home energy use. This process would be well suited in shared accommodation, like a flat, where people want to separate what their paying for from the overall total of the bill.
Both British Gas PAYG and Energysmart are very useful alternatives to the regular bill paying options that we may all be used to, but don't exactly like. They're definitely more financially sound options, as they give the consumer total knowledge about how much energy they're using. They almost remove the so-called grey area that can sometimes become a problem when dealing with estimated bills. If you want to help save the planet and save yourself a few quid in the process, British Gas PAYG and Energysmart could be a better fit for your energy supply needs.
