The corporate landscape has undergone a seismic shift with the advent of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). This revolutionary technology is not only transforming industries but is also empowering businesses to deliver superior services to their customers. In this era of rapid technological advancement, service providers are increasingly leveraging GenAI to enhance productivity, streamline operations, and achieve quicker, more cost-effective, and accurate results.

Recognizing this transformative potential, Infosys, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, has launched three innovative solutions powered by its proprietary AI platform. These solutions, which also harness the capabilities of NVIDIA’s cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies, are specifically designed to enhance the operations of telecommunications companies (telcos).

So, what exactly did Infosys unveil with these new solutions? Let’s delve into the details.

Infosys recently announced an expansion of its collaboration with NVIDIA, aiming to deliver high-performance GenAI-powered solutions tailored ...
... for telcos, also known as communication service providers (CSPs). The primary objective is to provide AI-driven, customer-centric solutions that will drive innovation and operational excellence within the telco industry. These solutions are poised to enhance customer experiences, streamline network operations, and accelerate service delivery.

The three AI solutions unveiled by Infosys are built on its Topaz platform—an AI-first suite of services, solutions, and platforms that leverages generative AI technologies. These solutions are further enhanced by NVIDIA's Inference Microservices (NIM), including NVIDIA NeMo Retriever, NeMo Guardrails, and NVIDIA Riva. These microservices enable the creation of telco domain-specific generative AI models and the development of real-time conversational AI pipelines, which facilitate real-time transcription and translation for call center agents.

The first solution, TOSCA Network Service Design, employs AI to create and customize templates for more efficient telecom network design. Thanks to NVIDIA’s AI technology, this solution has achieved a 28% reduction in latency and a 15% absolute improvement in accuracy, making it a game-changer in network design.

Infosys’ second solution, the Smart Networking Operating Center, offers engineers an AI-powered tool to resolve network issues more quickly and accurately, significantly enhancing customer experiences. This solution has also benefited from NVIDIA’s AI, delivering 61% lower latency and a 22% absolute improvement in accuracy.

The third solution, Infosys Cortex, leverages AI to create realistic customer simulations, providing contact center agents with lifelike training environments. This tool enables agents to hone their skills and improve their performance by simulating real-world scenarios.

Infosys and NVIDIA executives have expressed their enthusiasm for this collaboration. Anand Swaminathan, EVP & Global Industry Leader - Communications, Media, and Technology at Infosys, emphasized that this partnership with NVIDIA will unlock cutting-edge enterprise AI capabilities, enabling global organizations to improve business efficiency. He also highlighted the importance of integrating NVIDIA’s advanced AI technologies with Infosys Topaz to transform network service design, NOC operations, and contact center functionalities.

Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecom at NVIDIA, noted that telcos are increasingly adopting generative AI solutions to enhance business productivity, optimize networks, and improve customer service. He commended Infosys Topaz for delivering domain-specific solutions that will accelerate and streamline telcos' adoption of generative AI.

These strategic moves by Infosys are likely to strengthen its position in the telco market, attracting a broader customer base. As the competition heats up, other industry players may need to consider similar innovations to stay ahead.
