Doctor of Medicine (5-Year)

Medical Education for International Students
The 5-year MD program is tailored for students from the 10+2 education system in India and Nepal, as well as those who have completed the necessary coursework in A-level (British system), International Baccalaureate, or CAPE. This program includes one year of advanced science coursework, equivalent to 90 credit hours of college-level coursework, followed by basic science and clinical science coursework.

What you will learn: Our Curriculum
Within this 5-year Doctor of Medicine in the Caribbean, students will leverage their prior academic grounding in the sciences to delve into foundational entry-level medical degree coursework, including anatomy, physiology, and other essential sciences.

Pre-Med (1 year) in Guyana
Take the undergraduate track with us and launch directly into medical school. Engage in pre-med coursework, clinical experiences, research, and volunteering. Study key subjects like Biology, Physics, Pre-Calculus, Physiology, and Anatomy to prepare for advanced medical education.

Basic sciences are crucial in medical school curriculums, providing the foundation for understanding normal physiology, abnormal disease states, and their treatments. Physicians rely on this knowledge to make informed healthcare decisions. In the 5-year Doctor of Medicine program in the Caribbean, the Basic Science studies will provide knowledge in Physiology, Pathology, and Pharmacology, preparing you for clinical and residency training.

Clinical Science (2 years) in
the USA
During these two years, you’ll complete clerkships in Arizona, learning from faculty physicians and working with patients at a teaching facility. Core clerkships in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Obstetrics and gynecology, and Psychiatry will shape you into a well-rounded doctor. Additionally, you’ll take elective rotations in seven areas of your choice.

Elective Rotations
In addition to core clerkships, elective rotations allow TAU students to be exposed to sub-specialties in medicine that are essential to their medical training. Rotations like Cardiology, Neurology, Radiology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Orthopedics, Anesthesiology, Hematology & Oncology, and many more that are part of the program.

Submit all required documents.
Initial screening by the admissions team for eligibility.
Review of application and supporting documents by the admissions committee.
Take TMAT (Texila Admissions Test) or submit your MCAT® report.
Attend Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI).
Admission Requirements
3 Advanced Levels: in Chemistry, Biology, and either Math or Physics.
CAPE Units 1 and 2: Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Math.
Full IB Diploma with strong grades. 2HL required.
10 + 2 for India and Nepal.
