When mentioning student life in college one imagines classes and parties. But college life is not confined with study and fun only. A lot of students from different colleges take part in social life of a state, organizing marches, demonstrations and other actions. Is it good or bad? It is a positive tendency, which develops civic consciousness in youth.

What Actions Do Students Organize?

Apart from studying students pay a lot of attention to the situation in the country. They follow events and trends which take place in political, social and cultural life of their country. When something inappropriate happens students are eager to express their concerns and reveal their ideas about the issue. Students organize marches and demonstrations; they involve different people in these actions: workers, officials, educators, etc.

How are all these actions organized and by whom? In each college there are several organizations and committees which are preoccupied with some burning problems: issues of family, labor, diversity, etc. These committees are the cores of such students' actions.

Can It Be Harmful ...
... For Study?

Some people can be preoccupied with possible negative impact of such actions for study. Though, there is no (or very little) influence on study. Students organize such actions so that they could not prevent them from classes. Moreover, the majority of college activists show very good academic performances. Students, active in their study, are active in social life of their country.

On the contrary, there is a powerful positive influence of such actions on the students and the whole society. Students who take part in such activities learn that they can and should influence the social and political life of their country. If, for example, government or some organization sets some controversial law or acts in unfair way, students interfere, drawing public attention to this or that event. Society also benefits from these actions, since students are that impelling power which can change the world for better.
