Summer is a great time to relax and not worry about plumbing problems, right? After all, the pipes can't freeze and cause a flood: so what can possibly go wrong? Plenty! --Problem: Clogged toilets. The kids are home from school and that toilet is getting used and flushed all day long. It shouldn't come as a surprise that it gets clogged from time to time.

Solution: Using a wire hanger, dislodge excess toilet paper from the bottom of the bowl and then use a plunger to force detritus through the pipes. If the clogs are caused by foreign objects being thrown in the toilet, or if the system is backed up, it's wise to call a plumber.
