VoltR, a French manufacturer specializing in sustainable lithium batteries, has successfully raised €4 million to further advance its industrial processes. This seed funding round received support from notable investors such as C4 Ventures, Exergon, Pays de la Loire Participations, and Anjou Amorçage.

Moving forward, VoltR will continue to enhance its pilot plant, streamline its refurbishment processes, conduct research and development, and expand its team by recruiting new talents. Additionally, a Series A funding round, with an expected closing date in Q4 of 2024, has already been initiated, aiming to secure several tens of millions of euros.

Addressing both ecological challenges and concerns regarding European sovereignty, the demand for batteries is rapidly increasing due to the transition towards electrification in various industries. However, the production of batteries requires significant energy and water consumption, as well as the use of raw materials like lithium. By refurbishing batteries, VoltR aims to maximize their value and minimize the environmental impact associated with traditional battery ...

VoltR, established in 2022, has developed cutting-edge technologies and processes that utilize artificial intelligence to characterize, reallocate, and reproduce batteries. These sustainable batteries, sourced from used products that retain an average of 80% storage capacity, meet and often exceed the quality and capacity expectations of new batteries. VoltR's mission is to establish a European circular economy for lithium batteries, recognizing that the largest lithium deposit can be found within our own homes rather than buried in mines.

Alban Regnier, the President and founder of VoltR, emphasizes their commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of lithium batteries and building a sustainable future.
