Tibet's geography and political climate make it one of the most "mysterious" locations on Earth. But the amazing scenery and culture that are unmatched in the world will make the challenges of planning the trip and getting the Tibet Travel permit worthwhile.

Tibet is considered sacred, and travelers are drawn to the region's ethereal quality. When visitors visiting Tibet encounter one welcome shock after another, they will undergo a spiritual baptism. The Yarlungzangbo River, which has been flowing for millions of years, the strangely colored Himalayas, the revered Potala Palace, Norbulingka, the Jokhang monastery, and the Tashilumpu monastery all compel people to show them heartfelt respect. People can't help but love this holy land when they see flying swans above the crystal-clear alpine lakes and hear the bold and unhindered pastorals from the vast lowland, or when they stroll in front of the ruins of the ancient and unembellished Guge Kingdom, or when they hear the sound of Sutra chanting from the monasteries in the mountains and by the rivers.

When entering the tent or house, keep in mind not to step on the threshold as per the Tibet Travel information. When addressing someone by name, please use "La" behind the phrase out of deference. When seated, please face the person asking you to do so and cross your legs rather than extending them forward. You should lean forward and hold the gift with both hands over your head when offering the facility. If you took the present with both hands, that would be beneficial. You should use both hands to provide tea, wine, or cigarettes, making sure that no finger touches the interior of the bowl.

When the host hands you a cup of wine, you should give respect to heaven, earth, and the ancestors by dipping your ring finger into the wine and flicking it into the air, the sky, and the ground, respectively, before taking a sip. You take another drink of the wine, and the host will feel the cup.

You have to bottom up your cup once the host refills it.

Please observe the dietary customs of the Tibetan people, who do not consume fish in some locations and do not ingest horse, dog, or donkey meat.

Spitting and clamming your palms behind Tibetans is not courteous.

When greeting you, Tibetans extend their tongues. Placing their hand palm to palm in front of their breast is also considered polite.

Monasteries are smoke-free. It is also forbidden to touch Buddha statues and other sacred objects and to take images of them. Also, everyone should move in a clockwise direction (not through the Bon Temples).

If you come by any dagobas, monasteries, or heaps of Moni, please round them in a clockwise direction (against the Bon); do not cross them as per Tibet Travel Information.

The Tibetan people regard eagles as sacred birds. If you avoided hurting or driving them away, it would be beneficial. The cows with the red, green, or yellow fabric strips on the edges were off-limits, and you couldn't move or disturb them.
