Pdf Viewing Suite By Secure Pdf Viewer

Protected PDF documents published in the PDC format can safely be viewed using Lizard Safeguard Secure PDF Viewer. These PDF documents have to have been protected by either Safeguard PDF Security or Safeguard Enterprise PDF Security.
Lizard Safeguard Secure PDF Viewer enforces the protection measures that have been set when documents are protected using Safeguard PDF Security. This viewer had to be developed to enforce document security so that the protected PDF document cannot be viewed using the security-flawed Adobe suite or JavaScript applications. LockLizard Secure PDF Viewer is free and enforces the security settings that are imposed onto the document.
To create a protected PDF document one has to specify several parameters which ensure that only authorized people can view or print that document. These parameters cannot be enforced unless you have control over the viewing environment. In the Lizard Safeguard Secure PDF Viewer environment, the user can check to see what parameters are set for the document. This can be done by placing the cursor over the protected document or right clicking and selecting ...
... the properties and subsequently the secure PDF file tab.
The parameters set for the document are subject to change based on how the author of the document set them. For this reason, several parameters and their impacts are listed below:
The protected document may require an internet connection before any operation is performed on it. In such a situation, the Secure PDF Viewer will automatically try to connect to the internet.
The document may be limited to viewing a specific number of times. This will require an internet connection which will in turn verify how many times the document has been viewed.
An expiry date may have been set and thus the document will be unusable after a specified time period from the initial viewing.
For a watermark-enabled document, the printout of such a document may have on it details such as the name, email address and date/time stamp of when a particular person printed the document.
For a secure PDF/PDC document being viewed for the very first time, the Lizard Safeguard Secure PDF Viewer will have to check if it has the appropriate key which is needed for decryption. Without this key one cannot view the document. If the viewer does not have the key it will check the author's server online to confirm if the user has access to the document. If so it will obtain the key to enable viewing. If not, a message informing the user to obtain the rights from the author will be displayed. Once viewing is permitted subsequent viewing will not require internet connection.
