The 18 century has been considered as the period when the scientific thinkers, educators and those who actively wanted to carry out scientific experiments came together and arrived at a common thought that placed more emphasis on three main concepts that is textual study which later on became to be known as theoretical study, applied study or now known as practical emphasis or study, historical learning of scientific principles through the ancient books and scriptures. Of all the three the second aspect, the practical study has drastically changed since it evolved. Based on the carrying out of certain experiments and activities based on the studied aspects this type of learning helped the scholars and the students alike to understand and execute the same theories into practical life and also keenly observe and comprehend the workings of concepts that they had theoretically studied. With this more and more emphasis started to be placed on the practical studies or in other words working in the laboratory and trying to understand the concepts by carrying out the scientific activities.

The later part of the 18 century ...
... however gave room to a drastic change in this concept of laboratory work which was already embraced by the Germans, was slowly being brought to practice in the American schools and colleges. Once it reached the American environment it was almost thought about as a central setting for the study of all practical learning which included school, college, institutes and research centres. In the course of time the others followed the same principle and started to set up laboratories at the capable levels so that the students could be well prepared for higher studies especially in the field of science. With the passing of few more decades, the authorities after a keen study on the necessity of practical studies in schools and colleges, made it mandatory in the curriculum, that the practical study of certain subjects was essential and compulsory for the completion of the course of study.

With this the demand for educators who were well versed in practical training also increased thereby opening more opportunities. Parallel to this some colleges also started to offer laboratory training for teachers who were specifically interested in practical education of students. This trend of practical training which first began with branches of science mainly physics and chemistry later on became quite popular with the branch biology of science where in the students could very clearly understand the internal parts of the plant and the animal which they had studied in the texts. The beginning of 19 century paved more ways for the improvisations of the laboratories and their equipments. Nowadays a laboratory comprises of very sophisticated apparatus that is needed for the practical studies by which the scholars are able to obtain precise and accurate results. Alongside the growth of organizations that developed and supplied scientific and general laboratory equipments also increased with the demand. Gaia Science in one such organization that supplies scientific and laboratory apparatus to various reputed clientele.
