Commit Biologics, a company specializing in utilizing the complement system to combat cancer and autoimmune diseases, has emerged from stealth mode with €16m in seed funding from Bioqube Ventures and Novo Holdings.

The company's main focus is to expedite the development of its Bispecific Complement Engaging (BiCE™) platform. This innovative platform employs single domain antibodies that bind to the complement protein C1q, activating the complement system. The complement system is a powerful and rapid component of the innate immune system. BiCE™ is a versatile system that equips antibodies to precisely direct the complement system, enabling the targeted elimination of cancer cells or immune cells responsible for driving autoimmune diseases.

Commit originated as a spin-out from Aarhus University in Denmark, a renowned hub for complement system biology research. Over the past thirty years, Aarhus University has established itself as a global leader in this field. Initially, Commit received incubation and support from the BioInnovation Institute in Denmark.
