A car is a dynamic product. When you turn the ignition key it is almost as if it comes alive. And often people ascribe a personality to their car. Now for most cars which are pretty versatile different types of uses by different car owners are quite fine. The cars are designed for a range of users and the varying driver habits are not a problem. So you have people who use their car well within its performance limits and others who look to push the envelope of the cars performance. But if you step out of the ordinary range then you should realize that you may have to consider modifications to your car.

For example if you enjoy driving a high performance car and you have juiced up its engine performance then you will need the brakes to match it. It is no fun driving a high performance car if it cannot be handled in a reliable and dependable manner. And good brakes are crucial for good handling.

So what makes a good brake for a performance car? First you need to understand how car brakes work. A car brake has to very quickly take away the kinetic energy of the car and dissipate it as heat energy. It does so by creating ...
... friction between the brake pads and the brake rotors. The more the friction that is created the faster the car will come to a halt. But the more the friction is created the greater is the amount of heat energy that needs to be dissipated. Since these two work contrary to each other a balance needs to be struck.

If you want high performance braking you should go in for slotted brake rotors which have more surface area to create friction and only the slots serve to dissipate the energy. For more regular braking you can opt for drilled brake rotors which have holes to dissipate the heat but therefore have less contact area available for generating friction. Slotted brake rotors should be used with care because they put a greater stress on the brake components specially the brake pads. You can see the latest brake rotors at www.ilovebodykits.com.
