Cheap Mexico Beachfront Lots - Live In Yucatan For Less

The Yucatan Peninsula has already become very popular with places like Cancun topping the list for Americans both vacationing and buying a home, as well as Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Costa Maya following in its foot steps, and in addition to this, the beautiful colonial city of Merida. If you've imagined living in the Yucatan area, but need to do so at a lower price, there's good news; cheap Mexico beachfront lots are still available!
In the state of Campeche, about a two hour drive from Merida, on the Gulf coast of the peninsula is just beginning to flourish as a tourism and expat destination. This means two things; one is that many tourism activities and services have begun to appear, and the other that properties are still cheap.
Consider the case of a place like Playa del Carmen - which still offers excellent value for your dollar, but tends to be pricy for real estate directly on the beach; about 15 years ago, just down the road from one of the world's burgeoning tourism centers (Cancun), tourism was just ...
... beginning to grow there, and prices were low. People who bought then have been cashing in over the past 5 years, either gaining excellent return on an investment or now own a prime property to enjoy.
Campeche real estate is in a similar situation right now. The capital city, also "Campeche," has completely restored its colonial downtown, which is surrounded by an incredible wall, originally to protect against raiding pirates. The city also has modern services, such as Walmart, shopping malls, up-to-date hospitals and an international airport.
About 30 minutes south, a new marina and golf development has already started delivering properties to mostly European, and some American, buyers; these prices start around $500,000 USD. Another upscale golf and condo development was announced at the beginning of 2010.
Now compare this to cheap beachfront lots, only another 20 minutes down the road; with 66 ft of beachfront and a depth of over 1300 ft, these lots are selling for only $65,000! There are connections set up for water, electricity, phone and internet, and the lots have direct access to the federal highway. Other developments with similar lots are also available for slightly more.
In any case the situation of Campeche right now promises to follow a similar pattern to the areas on the other side of the peninsula. A few years down the road, buyers of these cheap Mexico beachfront lots are very likely to be owners of property worth many times more!
