Any capital city is going to be packed with restaurants no matter where you look. London is no different in this respect. No matter what kind of food you like to eat you will find a myriad of restaurants in the city that are right up your street.

For example Chinatown is ideal for a Chinese meal as there are lots of restaurants here that are run by Chinese people who really know how to cook some sensational meals. Gerrard's Corner is a great choice here, and even though you may have to wait to be seated you never have to wait too long.

Quite often you can find good restaurants by asking other people who have eaten out in the city. You can also find some good restaurants in London simply by walking around the city to see what you can find. There are the well known chains with outlets in more than one location, such as Chiquito's for example. But there are also the one off restaurants that you will not find anywhere else. These are arguably the best ones to visit because they are unique to London and are run independently.

The best thing to do is to do a spot of research online before you visit the ...
... city if you can. This will unearth all kinds of different restaurants that are worth trying. You will also usually be able to see at least a sample menu if not the actual one that is being used at the time. This is normally included on a restaurant's website as a PDF file, so you can download it and see what it is like before deciding whether to make a booking or not.

You can also often find reviews of London restaurants online before you go. Previous customers will often go online to share their thoughts with others about the meal they had, and you can get an idea of the quality of the service and so on as well by reading reviews such as this.

The other advantage of looking online is that you can find London restaurants that you wouldn't otherwise be able to find. While you can look round and stumble over a restaurant simply by walking along a particular street, there are some great venues down alleyways and in other slightly out of the way places as well. These can be hard to find if you don't already know they are there.

As you can see though, it does always pay to look into the variety of restaurants that are available in London before you go to the capital. While it is great to stumble over a classically good restaurant when you aren't even looking for it, you don't want to miss out on something truly great just because you didn't do a bit of research beforehand.
