Satire is an artistic form in which an individual's vices, folly, abuses, or shortcomings are made to stand out to criticize by using irony, ridicule, or other methods, sometimes with an intent to bring about improvement. Even though satire is usually used to bring out the humorous side, many also use it for constructive social criticism, using wit as a weapon. A satire female writer must know that the most common feature of satire is strong irony or sarcasm. This irony or sarcasm is mainly used to approve the very things a satirist wishes to attack.

To become a successful satire female author, you must use frequently literary forms like burlesque, comparison, parody, exaggeration, juxtaposition, analogy, and double entendre. The word satire comes from the Latin phrase ‘satura lanx' which means full dish, a farrago or medley, in other words, something that does not have to be realistic as long as it entertains and provokes. Satires had been present in Greek Literature, with Aristophanes as well ...
... as in Roman Literature with Juvenal and Horace. Satirical literature can commonly be categorized as either Horatian or Juvenalian.

There are two main points that use to discourage a satire female writer, satire is not the wholly private and domestic. It concerns itself with public issues and with public examples of those issues. Thus in societies in which women are confined and in which writing of any sort by women was highly inappropriate, so for a satire female author to exist in those times was completely unthinkable. In addition satire is a contravene genre, based on socially objectionable element of attack, often very personal. It often requires male satirists to take defensive, apologetic stance, it place women in a nearly untenable position. Thus it does not come as a surprise that in the history of writing, women have not been associated with satirical writing.

Female writer who did write did so anonymously or privately or were in other respects were already notorious figures like Aphra Behn and Delariviere Manley. Satire among a female author took the form of a mode, so that women who wrote socially significant novels or for the stage could introduce satirical elements. Probably the most successful satire female writer in the eighteenth century was, Jane Collier.
