Once faced with the realization that your Mobility Walkers, or that of someone you love and care for is decreasing and you are in need of assistance with your every day living requirements, you want to make things as painless as possible. There are so many options available out there, and if you don't know where to start it can become very overwhelming. One important aspect of mobility is where to sit when you're wanting to relax. When getting into and out of your favorite chair causes more pain than relaxation it is time to consider your options. But there are so many choices, and so many different terms, it can get a bit confusing.

First of all weight is an issue to be considered. If your chair is going to be needed to regularly accommodate over 375 pounds, a heavy duty lift chair will be needed. Most heavy duty lift chairs can accommodate up to 700 pounds. Heavy duty lift chairs have dual motors to ensure powerful operation, so your weight doesn't have to be an ease with your comfort. Heavy duty chairs also should be considered for those that are taller than average.

Lift ...
... chairs typically come in three different options: two position, three position and infinite position.

The two position lift chair will typically have a sitting potion, and reading position (a slight recline) and the position that allows the user ease of transition. The three position lift chairs not only have the above positions, but have the additional benefit of having a recline position, which is also some times called a napping position. This position however is not a full recline. The three position lift chair is the most popular of the electronic recliners, as it has a large range of styles and a book full of features and prices to deliver to almost anyone's budget and needs. Finally, there is the infinite position lift chair. These chairs offer a full reclining position (also known as the Trendelenburg position), which is important for elevating the feet above the heart. To ensure that you can operate the footrest and the back of your lift chair independently of one another, the infinite position life chair has been fit with a dual motor. Because this chair allows a full recline, it will allow for sleeping. Some chair models even offer a mattress and sheet set option. These chairs, although not the most popular, are the most versatile of the chair options available.
