Having a mobility problem can greatly reduce your independence, and ability to enjoy and get the most out of life. When your mobility is altered, even the inability to do something small and every day can be overwhelming. Therefore finding a way to improve your ability to get around on your own is vitally important. A mobility scooter can greatly increase your independence, and even decreasing your need for a family member, friend or carer to be available every time you wish to move around your own home, or the shops, or even take your beloved pet for a walk.

A larger purchase, such as a mobility scooter is not one to be taken lightly. There are many factors that you need to consider, and research is always a huge help on choosing just the right mobility scooter that is right for you. Rushing an important decision such as this, can leave you feeling unsatisfied and with an inappropriate purchase.

With so many choices in the market these days, its hard to know which factors are the most important. For most people, their budget is the number one priority when making ...
... a purchase. Many good shops offer credit to those in need, to insure that this isn't a limiting factor of your purchase. The number of wheels on your mobility scooter can adversely effect your ability to turn corners, mount curbs, ride on un-level ground, or get around in smaller spaces. Comfort is also a very large factor. A smaller mobility scooter might make it possible to get around smaller spaces and tighter corners but if you're unable to sit for longer periods of time because it is uncomfortable, doesn't make it a valild purchase if you're say, an avid shopper who wants to spend hours on their scooter. Just as purchasing a larger, more luxurious mobility scooter for going from your kitchen to the living room might be a bit more than you need, if you're working with a limited budget.

After all the larger choices are made, there are still additional options available for your purchase to be considered. Swivel seat, baskets, and lights are only a few examples of these.

The key to your mobility scooter purchase is to take your time and consider everything that is available to you. All good mobility stores will have someone available to help you make your purchase, it is what they are there for so don't be afraid to ask!
