Natural Home Remedies For Premenstrual Syndrome (pms) Relief

Premenstrual syndrome or PMS is a kind of syndrome which refers to the range of emotional and physical symptoms that many women experience during menstrual cycle. Women aged between 30 to 40 years are most vulnerable to the risk. Since PMS does not have any exact cause, it can be prevented or can be cured completely. But it can also be successfully handled with proper self-care and effective treatment. If one starts suffering from PMS then she should consult with the doctor immediately.
Generally there are more than 150 PMS syndrome. From relative studies it has been analyzed that PMS varies from women to the women. There are many symptoms of PMS but the three most prominent symptoms are tension, irritability, and dysphoria or unhappiness. Anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, fatigue, severe headache, changing of mood, increased emotional sensitivity, and changes in libido comes under emotional and non-specific symptoms. As PMS has no specific cause so it can't be cured or prevented completely. But PMS can be successfully managed with appropriate treatment, proper self-care, dietary modifications, changing of lifestyle, medications and supplements. One should consult doctor during this trial period. PMS can also be cured by natural remedies. This includes -
1. Regularly exercise at least three times a week and also try to exercise daily in the premenstrual period.
2. Smoking should be banned completely.
3. Sufficient sleep is needed to cure this.
4. Any kind of stress and depression should be managed for example by walking, performing meditation, or gardening.
5. Cut back of caffeine and alcohol in two weeks before menstruation.
Changes in diet may also help fighting against PMS. A proper diet can effectively cure a person suffering from PMS. Smaller meals should be eaten instead of larger meals for examples six mini meals instead of three main meals. Intake of salty foods should be reduced. More fresh fruits, vegetables and wholegrain food should be included in the daily diet of the patient suffering from PMS. Intake of lots of dairy food is must. Fat enriched food should be strictly avoided. The patient suffering from PMS must record the food choices in her PMS diary and this may help the patient in becoming more conscious about high fat and high sugar snacking.
