Breasts problems such as breasts lumps, pains, discharge have become a frequent problem in most of the females these days. Breasts lump is a localized swelling that occurs in breasts. After some comprehensive studies it has been analyzed that 10% breasts lumps leads the way for breasts cancer. So it is very important for all women to receive appropriate evaluation if they feel those breasts lumps are developing.

Breasts Lump and Its Types

In breasts when a certain kind of swelling thing develops which can be felt is termed as breasts lump. Breasts lump can also cause breasts cancer which in turn results in death. There are some types of breasts lump which are as follows:

Cysts

A breasts cyst is a non-cancerous fluid filled sac in the breasts. It is common in women. These cysts are quiet painful or can cause no pain at all and it feels smooth or like rubbery under the skin. Hormones are the cause of cysts that keeps control on menstrual cycle and cysts are very rare in women older than 50 years. A sebaceous cyst is also a non-cancerous cyst which is caused by plugged ducts at the site of a hair follicle.

Abscess Lumps can also be mentioned under non-cancerous within the breasts. This lump is very painful and can make the skin over the breasts to turn red or feel solid or hot. This kind of lump is mostly common in breasts feeding women.

Adenomas

Adenomas are the non cancerous abnormal growth of glandular tissue in mammary glands or breasts. It occurs frequently in women aged between 15 and 30. Usually adenoma feels firm and round and has borders which are smooth. Adenomas are not related to breast cancer. Intraductal papillomas are non-cancerous abnormal growth in the breasts ducts. These are usually felt under the nipple and can cause bloody discharge from nipples.

Nipple Discharge

Nipple discharge is a common breast problem which can be seen especially in breast feeding women. This situation occurs when Paget's cells which are irregular and large forms in the skin of the nipples. In case of nipple discharge it should get treatment as soon as possible otherwise it may prove fatal and can cause breast cancer. Some of the symptoms of nipple discharge can be flaky or scaly skin of the nipple, straw colored or bloody nipple discharge, shape of the nipple changes etc.
