Here are some key features and specifications of the new Vivaro and Vivaro Electric.

The vans are available in two lengths (L1 and L2) and two heights (H1 and H2), with a choice of a panel van, double cab or platform cab body styles. The new Vivaro also offers a new passenger version, called the Vivaro Life, which can seat up to nine people.

New Engines and Performance
The new Vivaro and Vauxhall Vivaro Electric offer a range of engines and powertrains, depending on the model and the customer’s needs. The diesel engines are 1.5-litre or 2.0-litre turbocharged units, with power outputs ranging from 100hp to 180hp. The diesel engines are paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission and feature stop-start technology and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to reduce emissions and fuel consumption.
The Vivaro Electric is powered by a 100kW (136hp) electric motor and a choice of two battery sizes: 50kWh or 75kWh. The 50kWh battery offers a range of up to 143 miles, while the 75kWh battery extends the range to up to 205 miles, according to the WLTP test cycle. The Vivaro Electric can be charged from 0 to 80% in as little as 30 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger or overnight using a 7.4kW or 11kW wallbox. The Vivaro Electric also features regenerative braking, which recovers energy when the van slows down or brakes, and three driving modes: Power, Normal and Eco, which adjust the performance and efficiency of the van.
New Technology and Safety
The new Vauxhall Vivaro and Vivaro Electric are equipped with advanced technology and safety features to make the driving experience more comfortable, convenient, and secure. Some of the highlights include:
A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and satellite navigation (on higher trims)
A 3.5-inch digital instrument cluster with a color display showing key information such as speed, range, battery level, and driving mode
A head-up display, which projects important information such as speed, navigation, and safety alerts onto the windscreen in the driver’s line of sight
A wireless smartphone charging pad, which allows the driver to charge their phone without using a cable or a plug
A rear-view camera, which provides a 180-degree view of the rear of the van and helps with parking and reversing maneuvers
A surround-view camera, which gives a 360-degree view of the van and its surroundings and helps with avoiding obstacles and blind spots
A semi-adaptive cruise control, which maintains a set speed and distance from the vehicle in front and can brake or accelerate the van automatically
A lane departure warning system, which alerts the driver if the van drifts out of its lane without indicating
A blind spot warning system, which warns the driver if there is a vehicle in their blind spot, using an LED indicator in the door mirror
A traffic sign recognition system, which detects and displays the speed limit and other road signs and alerts the driver if they exceed the limit
A forward collision alert system, which warns the driver if there is a risk of a collision with the vehicle in front, and can apply the brakes automatically if necessary.
An emergency braking system, which can brake the van automatically if the driver fails to react to a collision warning
A hill start assist system, which prevents the van from rolling back when starting on a slope
A side wind assist system, which stabilizes the van in case of strong crosswinds
A trailer stability assist system, which helps the driver to control the van and the trailer in case of swaying or fishtailing
New Prices and Availability
The new Vivaro and Vauxhall Vivaro Electric are expected to go on sale in early 2024, with prices starting from around $41,000 for the diesel models and around $51,000 for the electric models, excluding VAT and including the government grant of up to $7,000 for electric vehicles. The new Vivaro Life passenger version will start from around $54,000, excluding VAT and including the grant. The new vans will be built at Vauxhall’s plant in Luton, UK, which has been upgraded to accommodate the electric powertrain production.

The new vans join the existing Corsa-e, Mokka-e, Grandland X Hybrid, and Combo-e Life models and the upcoming Astra-e and Crossland X Hybrid models in Vauxhall’s electric and hybrid portfolio. @via Gerane.
