Things to do:
You should drink cold water so that the pain numbs down. The effect of the painkiller will be for a certain period of time. After that the pain will get back. Drinking cold water will help to reduce the pain.
For the first three days, you need to be on liquid diet. You cannot eat anything solid or crunchy, as it will put unnecessary pressure on the gums. The liquid food is easy to swallow.
From the fourth day onwards when the pain has subsided a lot, you can start eating semi-solid food.
Make sure that you eat the food in room temperature. The food should not be warm or hot because it will increase the pain in the gums.
