Horoscopes - Not Horrorscopes!

Although not everyone will admit it, we all love reading our horoscopes, even if we think it is only a bit of fun. Some will try to say that they never read them, as they are a waste of time, but how do they know it is a waste of time if they never read them?

Whether you believe in your stars or not, the temptation to "glance" at them in our daily papers or weekly magazines is too hard to resist. Why? Because we are never quite sure if the forecast will relate to us, or benefit us. There is always a chance that it turns out totally accurate, and that is why they are like a magnet to us. If it turns out not to be accurate, it still does not stop us from checking them the next day.

In general, most astrologers concentrate on your love life, your finances and your health, as they know that these are the three foremost subjects on our minds. They try to help us make the right decisions, and aim to make their readings as cheerful and positive as they can. ... was going to walk out on you, or that you will soon be facing the bankruptcy court, or that you were going to contract a deadly disease. They would be failing in their work if they even hinted anything like that. If the stars indicated that money was going to be a problem, then chances are, the astrologer will simply advise you to "watch your spending". If your health is an issue, he may advise you that a holiday or a rest would be very beneficial. He will never print anything that would unduly worry or upset you, after all, he wants you to read his predictions all the time.

So, having established that there is absolutely nothing that will cause you anxiety, reading our daily horoscopes can provide us with a great deal of fun and entertainment. True, we can twist anything to make it relate to our own lives, and obviously that is what a lot of people do, but then, that is half the fun of it. All astrologers want us to enjoy what they write, and go to great lengths to be as accurate as possible.

Since we entered the "computer age", astrologers have become more and more accurate. The combination of years of studying, and the micro-chip have proved that they know what they are talking about. They sincerely believe in astrology, and are happy to try to convince us. They best way they can do it, is by drawing up a personal chart, based on a persons date and actual time of birth, then they leave it up to us to digest it. Anything on it you don't fully understand will be happily explained to you. Even if you are not sure, it is good fun to have it done, and it might help you with any negative thoughts

For some, having your personality exactly described (warts and all!) feels like being stripped naked, and can make them feel a little indignant. We are all proud of our attributes, but don't like being reminded of our faults. It is usually these people who scoff at horoscopes and astrologers. Not only are they missing out on a lot of fun, but they are denying themselves the chance to become a more informed person. After all, don't knock it until you have tried it!
