Shield Capital Closes $186 Million Inaugural Venture Capital Fund
Shield Capital has successfully closed its first fund, Shield Capital Fund I, L.P., raising $186 million in capital commitments, exceeding its target by 55%. The firm, founded in 2021 by Managing Partners Philip Bilden and Raj Shah, focuses on early-stage venture capital investments, with an emphasis on supporting innovators in AI, autonomy, cybersecurity, and space technology. Shield Capital is deeply committed to helping founders in both the commercial and national security markets. The firm is known for its founder-centric approach, offering support in areas such as executive recruitment, government customer access, and strategy development. Shield Capital has already invested in more than 30 companies working on frontier technologies, including Albedo, Apex, Elroy Air, Nexla, Overwatch Imaging, and Resilience.
