The standard 6 month’s visitor visa restricts you from working in the UK and/or recourse to any public funds. Even voluntary work is not permitted. However, you are entitled to search for employment whilst in the UK and also be interviewed by potential employers with a view to be employed by them in the future. You cannot apply for a work permit or a Skilled Worker Visa from inside the UK. You will need to return back and apply from your home country.
